Governor, Mark Warner has issued a proclamation stating that 19
February 2004 in the Commonwealth of Virginia is Gy Sgt. John Basilone Day.
Governor Warner’s actions follows that of New Jersey Governor James
E. McGreevey [2003 and 2004] and Maryland Governor, Robert L. Erhlich Jr.
The goal of the Stamp Campaign Committee for 2004 is to have all fifty governors
proclaim 19 February 2004 as John Basilone Day.
